What is a fanzine?
A zine, short for “magazine”, is an unofficial collaboration between multiple artists, writers and other creators that often carry a certain theme or have a specific focus. Time to [C]ook is a fanzine that will be a cookbook celebrating the NieR series.Will this zine be for-profit or for-charity?
This zine will be for-charity! The proceeds are planned to go towards (charity to be determined)How are recipes tested?
Chefs will be in charge of testing their own recipes. Recipe testing is expected to be an ongoing process throughout the check in stages of zine creation. Chefs should be testing recipes as they are created before finalizing written details for the zine!How many recipes can I contribute?
Chefs may contribute up to 10 recipes!! Please do not take on more than you can tackle in the scheduled time frame of the zine. You will need to make sure you also have time to test each recipe.What types of recipes can I create?
Chefs can create any nier inspired dish. Some categories include drinks, snacks/appetizers, main course/entrees, and desserts. If you think of something outside of these parameters, feel free to send us a message to discuss your idea!Can recipes use alcohol?
Chefs can create recipes that use alcohol, we just ask that alternatives be provided in the recipe as well.Will our recipes provide metric or imperial?
Recipes should provide both units of measurement. Mods can provide resources and help assist with conversion if help is needed.How many contributors will this zine have?
This will greatly depent on the responses to each type of application, but we estimate 10 or so chefs to take part in the zine and approximately 50 artists.Can we submit (social media website) for a portfolio?
For chefs, you will want to showcase not only your writing, but any previous recipe work you have done. Social media sites such as tumblr, twitter, instagram, etc may not be well suited for this. For artists, you may use an art social media as a portfolio, just make sure the artwork is easy to find and is representative of the work you would contribute to the zine.For spot artists, how many pieces of art will we be required to contribute?
Spot artists will probably be contributing for a couple of pages or so depending on number of applicants. If we end up needing more spot art within other pages, artists are welcome to volunteer to contribute more.Will there be merch?
Yes! The types of merch are still being discussed.Will it be SFW or NSFW?
This zine will be completely SFW!Can I be a contributor despite being a minor?
Since this zine will be for-charity, minors are welcome to apply to join and create content for this project. As a chef, you will need access to a kitchen and ingredients to test your own recipes, so we ask you keep this in mind when applying!Are AUs allowed?
No AUs, canon-divergent tropes or anything of the likes of it will be accepted this time. Exceptions are official AUs either created by Yoko Taro or the anime staff.Which characters am I allowed to make content for?
Any NieR characters are permitted! It doesn’t even have to be exclusively game characters, people will be free to create artwork from other NieR content such as novels, stage plays, the manga, the anime, etc. Just as long as it’s NieR.How will contributors be compensated?
This is a non-profit charity zine. Contributors will not earn money from it. Contributors are guaranteed a digital copy of the zine. If sales allow, we will offer a physical copy as well! Merch artist's will receive a copy of the merch they design!Will you ship internationally?
We will ship internationally! Shipping prices will vary depending on the country.
